My Iced Matcha

I honestly have yet to find a coffee shop that makes an iced coffee as good as mine. They are either too milky, too sweet or the flavour is just off. There are a few places in town I will get one but none are as good as this recipe. Call me crazy but I don't love a sweetened matcha, it's just not for me, so my recipe omits any kind of sweetener, but you could add one in if it's for you! The stars of the show here are definitely the matcha I chose, it has to be matcha ninja brand (it is superior to all others I have tried) and the vanilla cashew creamer (it is so yummy). I also add collagen into my matcha for an additional boost. I find when I add collagen to my tea or coffee it stops me from getting the caffeine jitters because it gives the drink a little more substance. If you love matcha or give it a try I would love to hear what you think of this recipe!

Ingredients:
1 tsp matcha powder (I prefer the brand matcha ninja)
1 tbsp unflavoured collagen
1 cup hot water
1 tbsp Vanilla Cashew Creamer (recipe found on my site)
Ice
Optional: I don't like my matcha sweetened but you could add 1 tsp honey in if you wanted it a bit sweeter.

Instructions:
1. Add water to a tea kettle and turn on your burner to heat up the water. You want the water hot, but not boiling.
2. Grab a small bowl and place a sieve overtop of it. Scoop your matcha powder into the sieve and gently spread it around allowing the powder to loosen up and fall through the sieve into your bowl. Once the matcha powder is through, remove the sieve.
3. Add in your collagen, into the bowl.
4. Pour your water into the matcha and collagen powder, and using a wooden whisk, whisk together the mixture until smooth.
5. Pour the whisked mixture over top of a glass with ice in it.
6. Pour in your vanilla cashew creamer, stir, drink and enjoy!
